The Fund Raising Motorcycle is ready for giveaway! Here is the scoop behind this thing. A 1970 Bultaco Matador 250cc Two Stroke. These bikes were the start to what Motocross bikes are today! This bike is from the era of when the VMA got its start at Rider Hill in Derby. 1973 was the first year up on "The Hill". Rider Hill is the ONLY Motocross track in Vermont and one of the OLDEST continuously operated motocross tracks in the USA. It is not something we want to lose. The sport of motocross has seen its ups and downs through the years, well this year is one of those years. Here are some facts, at the start of the season we were struggling to get 50 entries, by end of year we saw 130. The VMA is a non-profit organization and costs to operate are high and some races and practice days did not even hit break even.Without a better way of saying it, without this raffle being a success there may be no Rider Hill Next year. There is a potential of $10,000 dollars to be raised from this motorcycle. Tickets are $100 dollars each, tax deductible donation. Only 100 tickets being sold. Bike will be given away at the Second 2017 VMA Race at intermission!! We need EVERYONE to step up to the plate and buy one of these tickets!Tickets are available in person at Franks Motorcycle Sales in ESSEX, VT. OR by mail to VMA 118 center road Essex, VT 05452 OR By phone with credit card 802-878-3930
Vermont Motocross Association is a non-profit organization. Our board is made up 100% of volunteers. All proceeds are used to upkeep the track and pay for none volunteer services such as flaggers, EMTs, and track maintenance etc.. The VMA relies on donations, sponsors, and it's members in order to cover these expenses. Please help by donating today to keep this great track open where memories can continue to be made. Thank you!
